MS45 Catalyst Configuration (c_conf_cat)

In MS43, there is a parameter called "c_conf_cat" which is responsible for telling the DME what type of catalyst/exhaust configuration the vehicle has. Because MS43 was used in so many regions and applications, BMW put a switch in the DME that allowed for many different exhaust configurations. This ...

Re: MS45 - Tuning the Intake Manifold Model and Torque Tables

There is no need to disable any checksums with ByteTuner. It automatically corrects all of them including the one you're trying to disable. If you still want to try, you don't need to worry about damos files either. Just search for "val_mo3_swi_cal_cks" in ByteTuner and you'll find this parameter bu...

Re: Datalog values don't seem right

Hi, I have similar problem with MS43 the data numbers are not correct and read like: 45000, 68000. I have Windows 10 Pro, maybe this is the problem ? because my friend uses Windows 7 and reads on my car fine. Can you create a new thread since your issue is isolated to MS43 instead of MS45? Also, pl...

Re: MS45 Doubled MAF Sensor Range

You should be able to see attachments now that you’ve made a post. If you’re wanting to swap a RS4 MAF, you’ll need to first use any of these base tunes that have had the MAF hack applied to them. All of the ones we posted are 100% bone stock otherwise. So then you’ll have to modify the MAF curve wi...

Oh ok, I understand now. ByteTuner won’t be able to clear that light. You might have to get access to BMW diagnostic software to do that.

Re: Warning light delete

ByteTuner only allows access to the DME, not the ABS. Your brake pad light is probably managed by the ABS ECU.

Regarding your SES light, do you know what DTCs are causing it to illuminate?

Tuning MS45.1 E60 525i 530i with ByteTuner

If you're planning to tune a MS45.1 E60 525i or 530i, you'll have to make some temporary modifications to your wiring harness during the tuning process. You can make these modifications permanent if you want or you can revert them after you've finished tuning. BMW started using the newer CAN communi...

Re: Datalogging with DATAQ DI-100; slow logging

Hey Harland, We just tested on our bench with the exact same channels and DME. Although we didn't actually have a real voltage source connected to the DI-1100, we can see it fluctuating between 0.00 and 0.01V faster than 0.5Hz. For example, we can see it switch from 0.00V to 0.01V in 0.16s and back ...

Can you email us the *.dme2 file which was causing these two fatal errors? We'll see if we can debug on our side.

Re: Ms43 RS4 maf low voltage setting

Have you modified the idle spark/fuel tables? What about VANOS near idle? Sounds like you need more torque at idle to overcome the added restriction in the intake. As a last resort option, you could also tune the idle speed.

You can use one of their universal slot MAF sensors for your application. It can be put into any diameter intake tube depending on your HP needs. https://www.pmas-maf.com/product/hpx-mass-airflow-sensor-ford-universal-tune-required/ If you want one already mounted inside of a housing, they have seve...

Re: MS43 330i Supercharger

Sure, you could use this as a starting point for any forced induction build. Be sure to note the injectors used in this example along with the fact a stock MAF was used. You’ll have to make the appropriate changes to your fueling if you’re not using the exact same injectors. If you’re using a larger...

Re: MSS54HP E46 M3 - Single Bank 02 Control

Unfortunately the single bank is not possible with our software (since it was never possible with BMW's stock firmware). ByteTuner allows you to only modify the parameter space. Controlling MSS5x using a single O2 sensor would require a firmware hack. This is similar to the hacks we've done to simpl...

MS43 simplified maps + doubled MAF sensor range

Similar to our MS42 efforts, we decided to release a simplified version of the MS43 firmware. For fuel, ignition and VANOS, the default MS43 firmware (HW7545150 & HW7572342) has 28 tables for basic operation which should be tuned for optimum operation. This simply is not feasible for most tuners. We...
