Re: M54B30 HPX maf

You can use one of their universal slot MAF sensors for your application. It can be put into any diameter intake tube depending on your HP needs. https://www.pmas-maf.com/product/hpx-mass-airflow-sensor-ford-universal-tune-required/ If you want one already mounted inside of a housing, they have seve...

Re: MS43 330i Supercharger

Sure, you could use this as a starting point for any forced induction build. Be sure to note the injectors used in this example along with the fact a stock MAF was used. You’ll have to make the appropriate changes to your fueling if you’re not using the exact same injectors. If you’re using a larger...

Re: MSS54HP E46 M3 - Single Bank 02 Control

Unfortunately the single bank is not possible with our software (since it was never possible with BMW's stock firmware). ByteTuner allows you to only modify the parameter space. Controlling MSS5x using a single O2 sensor would require a firmware hack. This is similar to the hacks we've done to simpl...

We don't have a base tune which is just tuned for 60lb injectors.

MS43 simplified maps + doubled MAF sensor range

Similar to our MS42 efforts, we decided to release a simplified version of the MS43 firmware. For fuel, ignition and VANOS, the default MS43 firmware (HW7545150 & HW7572342) has 28 tables for basic operation which should be tuned for optimum operation. This simply is not feasible for most tuners. We...

Re: Bricked DME?!?

If this is the only thing that was changed, then it could be your DME/EWS needs realignment. Again, we're not OBD1 EWS experts. You can read more about the different versions of EWS here and they do mention the possibility of realignment: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-faq-ews It's nearly imposs...

Re: Bricked DME?!?

It's unlikely that you damaged your DME. We've never heard of someone "bricking" an OBD1 DME. We're not as familiar with OBD1 EWS as we are OBD2, but could it be that the DME/EWS need to be realigned? Are you positive that the EWS is preventing your engine to start as opposed to some other problem?

Re: MS4X - DME write maximum count?

Contrary to what others on the internet may say, no DME in the MS4x family has a flash limit that tuners need to worry about. The EEPROMs themselves have a flash limit but they're far greater than any tuner will ever reach. For example, the AM29F400 in MS42 has a documented read/write limit of 1 mil...

Re: MS42 simplified maps + doubled MAF sensor range

Okay, we built both the US and EU files for you since we weren't sure which you were using (either will work with any 528i). Let us know if either work for you since we currently don't have means of testing them ourselves on vehicles. They should allow a relatively stock engine to crank, idle, and d...

We should be able to put something together for you. Are you needing something for a 528i?

Re: S50/M50 Turbo Tuning

It's difficult for us to say for certain if it will meet your power goals. We've never tried running that MAF at that power level. It may work in a draw-through setup but we highly doubt it will work in a blow-through setup. You can compare the differences in flow rates here: https://www.renovelo.co...

Re: S50/M50 Turbo Tuning

We're glad to help answer any questions! Of course we think DTS is easier to use than TunerPro! TunerPro has a few shortcomings that we addressed. One of the big ones is the ability to edit axes within the table itself. Some people have figured out how to get TunerPro to do this by creating separate...

MS45 Doubled MAF Sensor Range

We're proud to announce the first publicly available tune to double the MAF sensor range for the MS45 community! We've spent a little time analyzing the disassembly in IDA Pro and came up with a couple of proposals for this firmware hack. The first idea ended up working exactly as expected! A huge t...

Re: MS43 tuning OBD2

Most aftermarket performance tunes stop at ~6800 or ~7000rpm on the stock valve train. Only on built engines (usually for racing purposes) do you see this go up to 7200rpm. Ultimately it's up to you on how much risk you want to take.

A few of our customers have bought ByteTuner for tuning their MS45.1 projects, but a large majority of them are not active on any forums. You can contact Juuso (member on this forum) to discuss his turbo tune on MS45.0. Although you won't be able to flash it to your vehicle, you can better understan...
