Error:Unable to determine DME type

Post by Gildner7215 »

HELP! I’ve tried everything I can think of, on top of following all instructions from the help tab. Every time I try to Generate VIN I get the “Error:Unable to determine DME” note in the tuner info. I’m clueless as to how I can remedy this

Usually this is caused by one of the following things:
  • Does your cable have means of connecting pins 7 and 8 together? If your cable has a switch, try both positions. If you have a multimeter, you can verify these two pins are connected together.
  • Make sure your ignition is in the "on" position (engine not running though).
  • Does your car have an engine swap or does it have many deleted modules like a racecar?
Lastly, send us the debug log file so we can take a look at what's happening. You can find the logs by clicking the "Logs" button under the Help menu. Email all of the *.log files to us.

This problem was resolved via email. The computer's USB port was determined to be faulty.
