Hi everyone,
after flashing a new software file to my MS45 ECU using ByteTuner, I’ve been getting a constant throttle body error. The engine keeps surging, making the car almost undriveable. I already tried flashing back to previous versions of the software – including the original stock tune – but the issue remains.
Is there a way to completely reset the ECU to factory defaults? I’m wondering if there’s something stuck in the adaptation values or a deeper corruption that a normal reflash doesn’t solve.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
Sebastian

Have you tried manually resetting the throttle adaptation? See here for more details: https://renovelo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1789
You can also try resetting the throttle adaptations in ByteTuner. For MS45 you have the ability to reset specific adaptations.

Re: Throttle Body Error and Surging After Flash – Reset to Factory Possible?
I’ve tried resetting the throttle body, and on the first start the engine runs fine. However, as soon as I shut the car off and restart it, the throttle body issue comes back immediately.
It seems like the reset doesn’t persist after cycling the ignition. Could this be related to stored adaptation values or something deeper in the ECU configuration?
Any ideas on how to make the reset permanent or fully clear whatever is causing this?
Thanks in advance!

Typically resetting the throttle adaptations manually or via ByteTuner resolves this issue. Is it possible that you actually have an issue with your throttle body which needs addressed?
