Below is the complete list of factory base tunes which can be downloaded here and can be used as a guide for vehicle compatibility.  All modified base tunes can be found on our forum.  If you see your DME below but not your model, please contact us to ask about support.  If there is a particular software variant that you do not see below, it should be possible for us to generate the map packs rather quickly.  However, if there is a particular hardware variant that is not seen below, this could take us a considerable amount of time to support.

For a complete list of hardware and software variants, visit realoem.com or bmwfans.info.  You can enter your vehicle information (or VIN) and search for the type of DME your vehicle has.  Then you can determine every variant that BMW offered for your vehicle.

What does ZB/HW/SW mean?

These are terms that BMW uses to categorize the different pieces of firmware found inside their DMEs.  The hardware variant (HW) is the piece which contains all of the logic.  This tells the DME how to operate, how to read the sensors, how to communicate with other modules in the car, etc.  The software variant (SW) is the piece which contains all of the calibration data.  This is the piece that ByteTuner allows you to tune.  Finally, the ZB is BMW’s unique combination of HW and SW variants.  The ZB categorization is necessary because a single HW variant can have several SW variants associated with it.
